The resulting visualization renders the black male body as greasepainted, tattooed, muscularly toned, aggressive spectacle. On the surface, the visuals are similar to those of blaxploitation imagery. In film, a third visualization of sexualized black masculinity is found. In this instance, the visualization of the naked black male body signifies his criminalization.
